Custom Liquid

Custom Liquid outputs code that you paste into the theme editor: an app snippet, an embed from another service or a small piece of your own Liquid and HTML. The code appears inside the page content column, between the sections around it.

Where to find it: Theme editor → any page → Add section → Custom Liquid. A Custom Liquid block is also available inside some sections, listed below.

  1. In the theme editor, open the page and click Add section.
  2. Choose Custom Liquid.
  3. Paste your code into Liquid code.
  4. Adjust Top padding and Bottom padding if the code needs more or less space around it.
  5. Click Save.

The code is placed in a column as wide as the rest of the page content and takes the text and background colors of the Color scheme. On screens up to 1024px wide, the top and bottom padding shrink to three quarters of the values you set. When Liquid code is empty, the section takes no space.

These sections accept a Custom Liquid block, so the code appears inside the section instead of as a separate band:

  • Product (product page)
  • Featured product
  • Cart
  • Collection products (collection page)
  • Search
  • Page

In the left sidebar, expand the section, click Add block and choose Custom Liquid. The block has a single Liquid code setting and adds no spacing of its own, so drag it to the position you want among the other blocks.

If an app gives you an app block, add it through Add block → Apps instead of pasting code: app blocks update with the app. See Apps.
